LifePush is a personal blog run by me, Jun, from my home in Singapore. I'm not a company — there's no Pte. Ltd., no UEN, no marketing department. Because you've got a contact form and a few optional cookies, I'm writing this note to explain what I collect, why, and what you can do about it under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
Who is responsible?

What data do I collect?
Contact form: If you use the "Say hello" form, I collect your name, email address, message content, and the fact that you ticked the consent box. I don't ask for your NRIC, payment details, or anything else.
Cookies: Essential cookies remember your cookie choice for six months. If you accept analytics, I may use a basic analytics tool to see page views and general traffic — nothing that profiles you across other websites.
Server logs: My hosting provider may automatically log IP addresses, browser type, and timestamps for security. I don't actively mine these logs; they're standard web hosting noise.
Why do I collect it?
Contact form data exists for one reason: to read your message and reply if appropriate. I don't add you to a newsletter — there isn't one. I don't sell or rent your details. I don't share them with advertisers.
Cookie data helps the site remember whether you've accepted or rejected optional analytics, so the banner doesn't nag you on every visit. Analytics, if enabled, helps me understand which posts people actually read so I can write more of what lands and less of what doesn't.
Lawful basis & consent
Under the PDPA, I rely on your consent for the contact form (that unchecked tick box is deliberate) and for non-essential cookies. Essential cookies are necessary for the site to remember your preference — that's a reasonable operational need for a personal site with a consent banner.
How long do I keep data?
Contact messages: up to twelve months in my email inbox unless you ask me to delete them sooner, or unless I need to keep one longer because we're mid-conversation. Cookie consent choices: six months, then the banner returns and you choose again. Server logs: whatever my host's default retention is — typically a few weeks.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- Confirm whether I hold your personal data
- Access a copy of what I hold about you
- Correct inaccurate details
- Withdraw consent or request deletion where applicable
Email me and I'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're unhappy with my response, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) at pdpc.gov.sg.
Cookies in detail
Essential: stores your cookie banner decision (Accept all / Reject all / Customise). Without it, the site would forget every time you close the tab.
Analytics (optional): if you opt in, a lightweight analytics cookie may count visits and pages. Reject all and it won't load.
You can change your mind anytime — clear site cookies in your browser or click Customise when the banner reappears after six months.
Third parties
My email provider and web host process data on my behalf to deliver the site and messages. Google Fonts loads typography from Google's servers when you visit — their privacy policy applies to that request. I don't use social media pixels or ad networks on this blog.
Children
This blog is written for general readers, not aimed at children. If you're under thirteen, please don't submit the contact form without a parent or guardian's permission.
Changes
If I change this note — new tool, different host — I'll update the date at the top. Material changes won't retroactively apply to data collected under a previous version without reason.
